About Us

Butterworth mill is a unique historic residence, originally the local Flour mill built in 1874,

which has been restored into a B&B sleeping up to 12 guests.


One of the largest privately owned residences in Burra,

 

With 4 sleeping areas, "The orphanage" with 6 single beds on the top floor with luxury linen, reverse cycle air conditioning, PlayStation and games and large plasma this area is a kids haven. 

 

On the second mezzanine floor there are two large bedrooms with a share bathroom between them, one with a king bed the other a queen.

 

 The "Engine room" has another two queen beds and it's own mezzanine with a bunk, perfect for an entire family who wants a bit more privacy.

 

The main area boasts a large open living area with a fully equipped kitchen with a modern fridge/freezer with fresh water and ice plus a seperate drinks fridge, a large TV, combustion fire, ping pong and pool table. There is also a generous bathroom with bath and separate laundry facilities.

 

There are two full bathrooms one with a large bath.  All up there are 4 plasmas, 2 DVD players, docking stations, expresso coffee machine,  

 

There is a bike track along the river which is a short ride into town with two retro bikes supplied for visitors (on request)

There’s two local friendly country pubs within a couple of minutes’ walk and another two a few minutes drive into town. 

There is also a large outdoor deck with a bar, fire pit, outdoor barbecue and alfresco dining area.
